Why study Business Law?
Business law - innovative, future-orientated, efficient
Business law online studies have been offered via the TakeLaw platform in cooperation with the HFH for over 10 years. 10,000 graduates have already benefited from our learning concept. Together with the Media Design University, TakeLaw continues to consistently pursue the embedding of digital concepts and current research and is now integrating the latest AI developments into the learning platform. This will create even more innovative practice opportunities that perfectly prepare students for a new concept of online examination procedures. Business law is being made competitive for the future.
We use innovations unconditionally for the benefit of our students: In addition to the improved practice options and more individualised feedback, the price-performance ratio has also been improved once again, as the Mediadesign University offers optimal framework conditions for medial concepts.
In this way, law and business are interwoven in our TakeLaw platform to create a practice-relevant, future-orientated overall competence. Learn to master business law with digital tools in order to play a key role in companies.
The programme will start in the winter semester 2024, subject to approval by the Berlin Senate Administration.

YOUR BUSINESS LAW STUDIES
The Bachelor (LL.B.) in Business Law combines core content from law and economics. The degree programme trains the managers that companies and administrations urgently need in times of skills shortages in order to fill promotion positions. Without economic competences in business administration basics and sound legal knowledge, neither decisions nor preparations for decisions can be made today.
The reason: virtually all company processes are subject to legal standards: In addition to civil law and administrative law, data protection, labour law, self-determination law, anti-corruption law and the entire field of compliance govern all aspects of business.
TakeLaw offers the digital legal method that helps to acquire expertise in these areas in a short space of time.
We can look back on a long, successful tradition: Since 2008/2009, the TakeLaw concept has been the basis for the online degree programme in Business Law (LL.B.) at Wismar University of Applied Sciences, and since 2012 the online degree programmes in Business Law (LL.B. and LL.M.) at HFH. After 16 years, these degree programmes are now also available at the Mediadesign University in a further improved design.
The expertise of mdh enables the implementation of the latest research and technical developments and their constructive application in examination formats.
As a result, all teaching is organised according to the highest scientific standards and at the same time adapted to the needs of the students. Students can study flexibly from anywhere with an internet-enabled device and examinations can also be taken ONLINE without any problems. In this way, we support students who have family and work responsibilities in addition to their studies: With the proven TakeLaw method, studying can be uniquely affordable, flexible and time-saving.
BERUFSPERSPEKTIVEN FÜR WIRTSCHAFTSJURISTEN
An important basis for the career prospects of business lawyers is the liberalisation of the legal advice market. With the Legal Services Act (RDG) of 2008, the legislator implemented applicable EU law and, among other things, loosened the lawyer monopoly.
This development has created numerous promising fields of activity for our graduates:
- In human resources, business lawyers contribute to the legal drafting of employment contracts, working conditions and works agreements. They also assume responsibility for the administration, planning, procurement and development of personnel and take care of payroll accounting.
- Business lawyers also find interesting employment opportunities in tax consulting and auditing firms. They advise companies on tax law issues and are jointly responsible for proper bookkeeping and the preparation of balance sheets and annual financial statements.
- A postgraduate Master's degree can pave the way to becoming a tax consultant or auditor.
- In management consultancy, they support clients from business and administration with business management and (labour) law issues. They also advise on the search for suitable specialists and managers.
- In the banking and credit industry, their area of responsibility includes the processing, reorganisation and settlement of loans as well as the support of corporate and private clients.
- In insurance companies, they settle claims and deal with the design of insurance contracts and tariffs. Alternatively, you can take on responsible positions in the insurance field service.
- Insolvency administration also offers an interesting field of activity for business lawyers. Lawyers with sound business knowledge are in demand both for the reorganisation of crisis-ridden companies and for their liquidation.
