There are few places where creative people feel more at home than in the world of media design! Here you can turn your visions into reality and realise fantastic projects that will make the eyes of many people light up with enthusiasm.
In the Media Design degree programme specialising in Communication Design & AI, you will learn what is important when creating print and online designs as well as user interfaces in apps. You will create captivating storyboards, develop elaborate 3D designs and breathe life into virtual realities. You will expand your knowledge with expertise in exciting areas such as typography, photography, animation and sound design and will soon be able to create your own creative worlds.
In the Media Design degree programme specialising in UX/UI Design & AI, you will learn how to design intuitive and user-friendly digital products. You will deal with the conception of user interfaces, the creation of wireframes and interactive prototypes. You will expand your knowledge with expertise in areas such as usability testing, information architecture and user research. You will learn how AI technologies can improve the user experience and will be able to develop innovative digital solutions that are both aesthetically pleasing and functional.
You will work on your own projects in practice-oriented events to directly apply and further improve your acquired knowledge. During a national or international internship semester, you will experience the work of media designers at first hand alongside your studies. Study content in the media design degree programme
The courses in the 1st and 2nd semesters initially focus on the basics of visual design in the discourse of classical and modern media. Strategic creativity then takes centre stage in all subsequent semesters. You will carry out cross-media research projects that skilfully bring together the fields of art, culture, science and business.
The aim of the media design degree programme is to develop innovative concepts for media design in a wide variety of areas and at the same time to get a feel for how to successfully market promising design projects.
The cross-media project work is completed together with other students as a team and can optionally be realised with partners from the industry. Enrollment Requirements
- Higher Education Entrance Qualification (Abitur) or equivalent diploma, i.e. IB or A-levels (check with our counseling department whether your diploma qualifies)
- English skills. Language proof: TOEFL IPT: 543, TOEFL IBT: 74, IELTS (Academic): 6, Cambridge FCE: B2, PTE Academic: 59, IB Diploma: English A or B at HL or SL, BI 'English Language Proficiency Exam': PASS. We also accept Duolingo.

Admission requirements for the Media Design degree programme
- General higher education entrance qualification, entrance qualification for universities of applied sciences or a qualification recognised as equivalent.
Tuition Fees
- Campus Berlin: English language program: EU citizens: 4.110,00 EUR/Semester | Non-EU citizens: 6.300,00 EUR/Semester
- Campus Düsseldorf: German language program: EU-Citizens: 4.068,90 EUR/Semester | Non-EU citizens: 6.300,00 EUR/Semester

For all courses we charge a one-time registration fee of 490,00 EUR and a one-time examination fee of 1.050,00 EUR.
For non-EU citizens, the one-time examination fee of 1.050,00 EUR is included in the tuition price.
In case of prepayment (semesterly, annually, completely) the tuition fees can be reduced by up to 5%. (This discount is not compatible with early registration discounts).
